A creative agency engineered for the age of AI
We work with brands to get them in front of the right customers by marrying the technical to the beautiful
→ Learn moreOur Speciality
When we build a website, it is going to look as striking to the eyes of your customers as the backend is clean to any developer who peeks behind the curtain.
We believe in designing elevated digital experiences that are rooted in technically sound solutions to deliver results for your business goals. Scripts carry as much personal narrative as they do SEO and AEO optimization for search. Brands are created to stand out in a crowded market as much as they are built for LLMs to read and to meet accessibility standards. Images are shot to stop someone scrolling as much as they are exported correctly, because gorgeous work looks dull the second a browser guesses wrong.
Half a job, done beautifully, is still half a job.

SEO and AI search
What is answer engine optimization (AEO)?
It’s how you become the business an AI names when someone asks for a recommendation. When a buyer asks ChatGPT, Perplexity, or Google’s AI who to trust, the engine assembles one answer from what it can read and verify about you. Answer engine optimization is the work of making sure your name is in that answer.
Is this the same as SEO?
Related, but not the same job. Search engine optimization competes for a ranked list of links a person scrolls through. Answer engine optimization competes for the single answer a machine writes. That answer gets built from structured data, clear content, and third party signals like reviews and listings. Good SEO helps. On its own it is not enough anymore.
How do I get my company recommended by ChatGPT?
By being the clearest answer to the question your buyer asks it. The engine reads your site, your listings, and what others say about you, then names the company it can describe with confidence. We make sure that description is yours: structured pages, plain language about who you serve, and third party signals that agree with each other.
We already have an SEO agency. Do we still need AEO?
Ask them what your share of AI answers is. If they cannot tell you, that is the gap. SEO earns you a place in a list of links. AEO earns you a place in the single answer a machine writes, and it is measured differently.
Why do videos get cited in AI answers?
Because the engines read transcripts, chapters and captions the way they read a page. A video built with those in mind can be quoted; a video that is only pretty cannot. We script for search as well as for camera.
How long before I see results?
Movement in AI answers usually shows up in two to three months, which is why we run a three month minimum. The engines refresh on their own schedule and nobody can rush them honestly. What you see immediately is the work: every month you get one page with your visibility score, your numbers, what shipped, and what’s next.
Web design and brand
My website is only a couple of years old. Do I really need a new one?
Maybe not, and we’ll tell you either way. The free teardown scores your AI visibility and your website’s conversion readiness separately, so you can see which one is actually costing you. Plenty of sites convert fine and only need the visibility work. When that’s the case, we say so and you start with AEO alone.
How do I know if my website is losing customers?
Traffic without inquiries. If people arrive and leave without booking, downloading, or writing, the page is where interest ends. We score conversion readiness and AI visibility separately, so you can see which one is costing you before you spend on either.
Why does website design affect conversion?
Because a visitor decides in seconds whether this is for them, and design is what they read in those seconds: hierarchy, one clear action, proof where the doubt is. We score conversion readiness on five subscores and design against them, so the numbers move rather than just the look.
Can you redesign my website without changing the brand?
Yes, if the brand is doing its job. We check that first. A redesign on a weak brand delivers a nicer version of the same result, and we would rather tell you that before you pay for it.
What is the difference between a rebrand and a website redesign?
A rebrand changes what you say and how you look everywhere. A redesign changes one place you say it. Most companies that ask for a redesign need the positioning fixed first, because a new site built on an unclear claim is an expensive way to keep the same problem.
Do I need a brand strategy before a website?
Yes, and it is usually shorter than people fear. The site has to say what you do, for whom, and why you rather than the next tab. If nobody has written that down, the design will hide the gap for about a month. We do the strategy first and the site is downstream of it.
How long does a website project take with Sunny Side Up?
Two to three months, in weekly sprints, so you see progress every week. The pace depends on one thing: communication. We come in as the experts on brand, design and creative. You are the expert on your business. When discovery, research and feedback move in a timely way, the sprints hold and the project lands on time.
Working with us
What does a creative agency actually do?
It decides what your company should say and how it should look, then builds the things that carry it: the brand, the website, the deck, the video. The difference from a freelancer or a template is the deciding part. Anyone can make it pretty. We make it say something a competitor cannot copy.
What should a growth stage company fix first: brand, website, or visibility?
Whichever one is losing the most buyers right now, and that is measurable. We start every engagement with the free score because it tells us where the leak is. Guessing is how companies rebuild the wrong thing.
Do you do photography and headshots?
Yes. Brand photography, founder portraits and team headshots, shot to the brand’s rules so they hold up on the site, on LinkedIn and in the deck.
What do I own when the project ends?
Everything. Source files, fonts and licences we bought on your behalf, the guideline document, and the site code in a repository under your company’s name. No retainer is needed to keep what you paid for.
How do we work together during a design project?
In gates. Nothing gets designed until the copy is approved in writing, and nothing launches below the standard we scored it against. You see decisions as packets, one screen each, with a recommendation, so approving takes minutes and reversing later is cheap.
Can we work with you if we already have an in-house designer?
Yes. We set the direction and the system, they run it. That is often the best arrangement for a funded company: strategy from outside, production inside.
Do you work with companies outside Boston?
Yes. We work with companies across the country and around the world, and we like it that way. Collaborating with partners in other places is part of how we work, not an exception to it.
